Mastering All of Duck Calling Sounds
Hunting is a sport that many people like participating in. Of the many hunters you will find that duck hunters enjoy the challenge and skill of getting a good day’s hunting in. For these people there are many different items and ways that are important for duck hunting. The most important method for luring ducks is that of duck calling.
To call the ducks to the hide where you will be staying requires the use of a duck call. This device is simply a whistle like instrument. When you blow on the duck caller you will hear a quacking note. This is the sound that a duck makes.
By seeing if you have any instructions about summoning ducks to your position you can practice duck calling. You will however need to make sure that you are not practicing the duck calling in the vicinity of any duck hunters. You will find that while blowing the duck caller is easy there is more that you need to do in order to have the ducks come your way.
The duck caller will help you to call ducks to your blind but only if they feel safe. There are 8 different duck calls that you should master. With these duck calls and the knowledge of when you should be duck calling you will be able to land some real beauties to your hunting bag. The first of the duck calling notes to practice is that of the basic Quack.
This is generally the sound that a duck makes. While this note sounds easy to do there are hunters who have never managed to summon any duck using this duck calling note. The sound that you emit from the duck caller should be crisp and clear. You should also know when you should stop calling the ducks with this note.
The next duck calling note is that of a greeting note. This is the call to make when you first sight some ducks at a distance. With this call you can inform the ducks of the safe haven and nearby feeding ground. Besides these duck calling sounds these are the other ones in brief. The feed call which lets the ducks know of a great feeding ground. The hail and comeback calls are also used.
Additionally you can use a duck call that is known as the Lonesome Hen. The last two duck calling sounds that you should practice with are pleading calls where you plead with the duck to come to the place where you are waiting and whistling. In the whistling duck calls you will be able to utilize three different duck calling whistles.
These three calls can be used for Pintail, Wigeon and Mallard ducks. Once you have mastered all of these duck calling sounds you will be able to call the ducks to where you are. This is the best way to ensure that you manage to get the full quota of ducks for the day.
